Ateneo Blue Repertory’s Little Shop of Horrors

Poster from the Ateneo BlueRep LSOH Page

I had just watched the Ateneo Blue Repertory’s ongoing play entitled Little Shop of Horrors and I am literally at a loss for words! I have to admit there’s a bit of bias here and there since a few of my friends were performers of the play. I initially went to support my friend who was part of the logistic committee for this show. But when opening week came, I heard great reviews from my friends about it and decided  to see for myself!

It was only then that I found out that friends of mine, Tina Ramos, Maronne Cruz, and Roxci de Leon were playing Audrey II, Audrey and Crystal respectively. I knew I had to watch this immediately — after hearing covers of songs these people have made, aside from hearing them sing live, how could you ever say no? I can honestly say, with no bias at all, that my mind was definitely blown after seeing them act and sing the songs flawlessly!

Unfortunately, the male lead, Luis Marcelo apparently got sick and had to be substituted the same day I was going to watch the show. Members of the Blue Repertory who were also my friends had told me that the organization had called an alumnus to play the role of Seymour for the night. Surprisingly, I was in for one hell of a show! A few minutes before the show actually started, I heard that the said alumnus was no other than a friend of mine, Reb Atadero! I always knew how great of a performer he was but this was the only chance to actually see it for myself! And he delivered past expectations — an effortless performance learned and memorized in less than a day! What a guy!

Truly amazing. It took me the rest of the night to recover from this mind that was truly blown by an amazing performance by the cast.

Car obsession: Ford vs. Dodge

A lot of people don’t know that as girly as I may be, I also have a tough boy-ish side to myself. One aspect of this: the car enthusiast in me, inherited from my dear old dad. Anyway, there was this one time my dad had me look on the web for the new 2012 Ford Mustang Boss 302 Laguna Seca (yes, very long name, I know). I instantly fell in love with it, especially after watching the video they had, which you can also watch.

Apparently, the Laguna Seca has two different keys. Basically, one is for regular on-the-road kind of driving while the other key “ups the anty” and upgrades the car specs for racing capabilities. Yes, that was the only part that really caught my attention, aside from the Mustang looking oh-so-sexy, as usual 😉

A few days after researching about this car, my dad found interest in another car after seeing the displays in one of the usual malls we go somewhere in Makati. This car was an eye-catcher for my dad, especially with it’s vintage-looking rear lights. I am talking about the 2011 Dodge Challenger.

The rear view of the Challenger: vintage-look of the rear lights

The Challenger, like the Laguna Seca, is looks very sexy as well. The Challenger now has the Keyless Enter-N-Go along with its strong V6 and V8 engines. What’s so great about this car is the fusion of old school and modern in terms of looks along with it’s state of the art technology.

But in comparing the two, the Laguna Seca is better in terms of engine performance. Because of the type of engine it carries. The Mustang can go up to 7,500 rpm whereas the Challenger only goes up to 6,200 rpm. Tough choice between the two, right? I’m biased so I vote for the Laguna Seca. Hahahaha! What about you, what’s your pick? 🙂

Martha

It’s not a purse, it’s a satchel

If you watched The Hangover, you would most probably know this phrase during the first half of the movie. Now onto the real business – satchels. You may not have heard of it, or seen it, but satchels are in trend right now whether it may be for school, work or just an everyday bag. In the Ateneo, I’ve seen at least 10 different people using this bag to lug around their stuff, including friends and random strangers.

Presenting the Cambridge Satchel Company’s gorgeous metallic satchel:

Local brand, Schu, is selling the Cambridge Satchel here in the Philippines, which is available in selected branches and even online on their Facebook page. It’s available in different colors, some even in neon versions! Don’t forget to have your customized engraving made! 🙂
